The Youthful Offenders Program

The Youthful Offenders Program is an educational program for youth cited for violating drug and alcohol laws. It aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to navigate a culture where drug and alcohol misuse is prevelant. Ultimately, we want participants to make safe and responsible choices and to be able to handle potentially dangerous situations. YOP explores the effects of alcohol and other substance use and misuse, including social, physical, psychological, economic, and legal consequences. Our skilled instructors teach valuable skills such as decision-making and critical thinking, and provide students with information on safe behaviors.

The course consists of four discussion based classes held over Zoom. Students engage in guided activities to learn from each other's experiences, and will hear from guest speakers with backgrounds in law enforcement and substance recovery.

Students who successfully complete the alternative adjudication program can have their charges dismissed.
