Below is a list of services the club provides:
- Learning about mental health resources
- Creating a safe environment for Penn State students
- Accessing crisis intervention trainings
- Connecting students with local resources outside of the Penn State campus
- Advocating for suicide awareness
Meet Our Officers:
Hi! My name is Yashu and I am an Integrative Science major with a minor in Psychological Sciences. I am the President of Centre Helps Club and work alongside my executive board to create events for the hotline volunteers. Our hope is to give back to the broader State College community and foster strong relationships within the hotline. I love volunteering at Centre Helps because it makes me feel connected to State College. In my free time, I love hanging out with friends and watching shark documentaries.
My name is Sydney Rush and I am currently a senior studying Psychology with a minor in Sociology! I work along the executive board of the Centre Helps Club as the Vice president for the 2024-2025 school year. I work as an RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician) both in person at home and on telehealth at school (I love my job, so if you have any questions about ABA-reach out!). I love hanging out with friends and exploring State College!
I love volunteering at Centre Helps because everyone is so supportive and caring not only to clients but towards each other!
My name is Claire Nettleton and I am a senior at Penn State studying Biobehavioral Health with minors in Biology and Human Development and Family Studies with the hopes of becoming a physician assistant. The welcoming, hardworking, and selfless community within Centre Helps is what I love most about being a volunteer for the hotline. As the Events Planner for Centre Helps Club I am thrilled to work alongside the executive board to help coordinate events aimed to enhance our club’s community engagement and to continue to foster the welcoming and inclusive community I have found within the hotline. In my free time, I can be found exploring state college with friends or singing with my collegiate a cappella club.
Hi! My name is Isabella Oquendo. I am a senior studying Biobehavioral Health at Penn State. I work alongside the executive board of Centre Helps Club as the Public Relations Chair to manage media relations. I am excited to continue advancing the club's mission of engaging with and making a positive impact on the community. I love being a hotline volunteer and On-The-Job trainer at Centre Helps!
